Fundamental Issues
Despite our commitment to provide a comprehensive description of particular compounds, we are also continuously contributing to better understanding of several fundamental issues:
- Structure effects on spectral and photophysical properties of flavins.
- Photosensitization of singlet oxygen in both simple well-defined model systems and foodstuffs.
- Effects of light on foodstuffs and other consumer goods.
- Studies of opaque and highly scattering materials.
- Application of fast and non-destructive methods to monitoring chemical changes caused by light.
- Application of spectral, photophysical, and statistical methods to classify various consumer products with respect to their origin, shelf history, and consumer value.
- Non-classical kinetics, such as transient effect, and excited state lifetime distribution in heterogeneous environments.
